Many of our students experience deficits with social-emotional learning. Our program supports student learning with daily social-emotional lessons. We work on emotions, self-value, mindfulness, actions and consequences, and many other self-management areas. Often times while learning students will need a safe place to exert energy or a quiet place to recover from big emotions. Currently, we have a room, however, there are not very many items for selection. Students will use the family sets and cars to role-play positive social-emotional outcomes with the use of social stories. The three Builder Set on our list are quiet activities that students use to support self-regulation while we work through behavior or an emotion that they are experiencing.
