Almost one half of my inclusion class are special needs students with a variety of needs. These students come from many diverse ethnic and socio economic backgrounds as well. They struggle with paying attention and learning academics such as math ,reading and writing on grade level. These kids have not had as much success working individually as they were forced to do owing covid. They need the opportunity to work in groups, however there are guidelines and constrains even this year for working together. I want to be able to provide as many different learning opportunities as possible that will help my sped kids retain what they learn. Using hands on manipulatives is an absolute must so help them succeed. Mainly because it says so on each of their Individual Education Program. This will be research based methods to encourage the kids to understand the concepts quicker: as well as their brains will allow.
