The pandemic has taught me to be more innovative and really think outside the box as we were forced to make so many changes last school year. Students also had to make many changes and in my opinion, they were the heroes! This school year, I want to make learning fun and allow for some safe interaction with each other. How will I achieve this? More outdoor learning! I have a nice grassy area in the back of my small classroom which I would like to utilize more this year; therefore, I am requesting tubs to keep their cleaning supplies and to be used as outdoor desks. Cute beach mats will allow my students to enjoy being outdoors and doing independent work while getting a lot of vitamin D. Hawaii has the best weather in the world and I'm not sure why it took a pandemic for us to realize this. No more children falling asleep because it's too hot in the classroom. As my title states, Learning Can Be Fun Anywhere. The supplies will also allow for some student interaction because they will be outdoors. They have been waiting for over a year to talk and work with their peers. I want to provide this collaborative learning for my students but in a safe manner, which is outdoors. If and when we ever get back to normal, I believe I will continue more outdoor learning opportunities for my students. What a great way to learn while you are enjoying the beautiful sun and tradewinds. After all, we live in paradise!
