Distance learning has been difficult for my students. Now that they are finally coming back to school, it is crucial that my students have the technology and resources needed to adjust to in-person school life again. The assistive technology devices and learning toys I would like to obtain are devices that are essential for my students to transition to in-person school and set the foundations for a love of learning. The pandemic caused the loss of opportunities for my students to develop their communication skills and practice daily life skills in a school setting. These resources will help my students gain opportunities to practice these skills again in the classroom setting with a wide variety of people and in learning styles that fit their individual needs. For example, the use of toys can encourage students to engage in play with their peers and learn about the world around them through sensory exploration. Noise-canceling headphones can prevent sensory overstimulation caused by noise and enable students to participate in activities that all preschoolers deserve the chance to participate in. These resources won't just be fun toys and gadgets; they will open up a world of possibilities for my students.
