A wide variety of books in my classroom library creates a literacy-rich setting and foundation for a love of reading. Through the books I have selected, students will be able to experience literature that connects them to the real world at their independent reading level. As these students begin the school year, we will work together to build up their stamina for reading. By providing students with the opportunity to read books that match their interests and passions, they will become more engaged and active participants in their learning. We have a school-wide goal of bringing the outside world into the classroom and pushing learning out, and these books will help us achieve that goal. These books will help our students learn, connect with others, and further discover new passions. I am eager to see the ways in which a fruitful classroom library empowers more empathic and excited readers!
