Diversity is lacking in my classroom as well as creativity. With the requested materials my students and staff will be able to teach and learn about culture and empathy when students care for baby dolls in house keeping area. Students will also learn about culture and abilities differences through the music played with the scarfs and rhythm sticks. The children will also be able to build skills in block area with the new blocks and accessories such as diverse families. All of the materials request will promote language skills, math, science, literacy, social and cognitive goals to meet Early Foundation recommendations given by the state of North Carolina and Early Learning. This year will the first year of school for many of my students so they need to know the classroom is warm, welcoming, and has adequate materials for each of them and their learning style.
