The goal for these items is social-emotional learning as well as giving them tools and activities for self care. The fidgets will specifically give my students an outlet as they are talking about past traumas, their mental health, and other triggering situations. The games will allow for ice breakers and teaching skills for the groups I will lead during the school year. The "How and Why to get Students Talking" book will provide additional resources and activities for generating conversation in groups. Sometimes we just need a break to refocus and move forward positively in our day! When a student steps into my office the goal is for them to feel heard, cared for, and safe. All of these items will contribute to this goal and be used by all students who enter into my office.
