Through research, we know that students learn in different ways. That when they enjoy something they do better and that exposure to a variety of experiences allow them the opportunity to expand their knowledge. This was the foundation I thought of when I chose the four items for my students. These four items will provide my students with opportunities to expand their understanding of STEM and reinforce the fun of learning. The Magnetic Blocks will be an addition to the block area where students will be encouraged to understand the concept of stability by securing a strong base during construction. The Geo Boards and Gears will be an addition to the table toys where the students will be exposed to the importance of spatial awareness, attaching rubber bands to form a shape or picture and attaching wheels to be manipulated by turning a gear. And lastly Dinosaur Bones will be part of the science area where students can measure, match and count the varies dinosaur bones. After a year of home schooling, these toys will be a wonderful addition to our classroom where my students will be able to explore and develop using these items to expand their understanding of a variety of intentionally planned concepts. For the sake of my students, I thank you for considering your help with this request.
