With my incoming 8th graders, I want to share my passion and excitement for reading with them by giving them a brand new, flexible reading corner. Coming from low-income communities, students are not always excited to have used and outdated materials that are not relevant to their lives. Receiving these books and materials will bring in a more culturally relevant and comfortable environment for them to learn to love to read in. My goal is for my students to increase their reading ability and love for literature while helping to mold their young minds into open-minded, inclusive people that accept others and themselves for who they are.

About my class
