We do workouts in our gym and sometimes I see students struggle with their form with certain movements because of how hard the floor is and then they get discouraged to really do their workouts. I would like them to learn how to prevent injury without even know that is what they are doing it while they grow in the craft of physical education. This will also teach each individual student about the responsibilities to come in and grab their own mat and put it back when they are done which will create healthy habits for life all around, but also gym etiquette and how one thing left behind matters. Muscle memory is very prominent at these younger ages as they develop physically and athletically. How they learn to do a push up now, will affect how they do and prevent injury in strength training in High School as an athlete. Effectively being able to do these universal movements without the fear of how hard the floor is will be that stone that ingrains the correct mechanics in to their minds.
