Each student will have their very own chair pocket to store their writing journals, workbooks and materials for phonics and math. The chair pockets will help students become responsible and independent with caring for and knowing where to find these materials easily and quickly. I have so many students who receive services outside the classroom that knowing how to access these materials quickly and easily will make transitions into and out of the classroom seamless. Two elements of our school mission are to be respectful of each other and of our materials and to take responsibility for ourselves and our materials. When students have a clear and easy place to keep their belongings, they build independence and confidence which allows them to achieve these goals more readily. These chair pockets from Aussie are extremely durable and have received rave review by others who have purchased them. The pockets are deep so things are not likely to fall out. I greatly appreciate your consideration of making chair pockets are reality for my students.
