After a year facing the challenges of distance learning my students need a positive, safe and caring class environment that encourages them to grow as learners. One key quality of a transformative classroom environment is a comprehensive and culturally responsive class library that provides students with fun, engaging and relatable texts. As a first year teacher I need help creating a class library that will encourage my students to become joyful readers. Independent reading time will be a pivotal routine in my classroom, and I need help providing my students with the books they need to grow as independent learners.
