This will give my students a chance to practice some hands on activities while learning some very difficult 4th grade concepts. Many students do not retain what they learn. The Daily Math Journals will give them practice and reinforcement so they are constantly reviewing and practicing as the year goes on. They also need to visualize what they are doing when they are doing math. Many students struggle with regrouping and long division. The manipulative kits will help students visualize the logic behind the computation so that it sticks with them. Adelphi is a Title I-funded school with many students functioning below grade level. I am hoping to use these resources to help fill some of these gaps. Anything you can donate would be much appreciated!!
