We will use the Scholastic News across the curriculum with an emphasis on reading for understanding and informational writing. Because of the isolation students have experienced due to the pandemic, their social/emotional growth has been affected drastically. The Scholastic News articles and activities will help my classroom fill in those gaps while providing high interest topics geared to them. Through reading and discussing the articles, we can make connections as humans again! Plus, when we are completed with an issue, students will be able to take home to reread or share with their family.
