Astronomy is one of the most popular courses we have at our school. A couple of years ago during construction, our three (previously donated) telescopes were broken. I want to make sure that our current students can receive the same, or better, experience during this course. Two times during the year that Astronomy is taught, the students throw a "star party". This is an evening event near the school, away from the lights, where I provide pizza and telescopes, the students provide the knowledge and instruction. Friends, families, past students, scouting troops, and community members are invited. This is a well-attended event and empowers the students, even when very nervous, to show off.
