I am requesting new books for our classroom library to engage students in literacy and social studies. I want my students to read during their literacy stations to learn vocabulary. This will make it easier for the teacher to figure out learning gaps. I am also requesting headphones to help students with technology stations during independent reading time. The bookmarks will be used as assistive technology for any student that requires this. My students need immediate access to a wide range of literature. They will also have access to learning applications the district has purchased for literacy to improve fluency, accuracy, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. These books will help students become proficient in reading so that they are on the path to college-readiness.
