Math journals will be used by students to record their strategies, learning, and exploration process. Students will refer to math journals daily to encourage a deeper understanding of their learning. Students will collaborate and review peer strategies to enhance their learning. Mathematical manipulatives will be used as teaching tools. Manipulatives are teaching tools to engage students in the hands-on learning of mathematics. They can be used to introduce, practice, or remediate a concept. Learning through math journals and manipulative's stimulates students senses from movement, sight, touch, balance, hearing and more.
