The purpose of my job as a general music educator is to instill a life-long love for music in my students. A great way to do this is by introducing students to a wide variety of musical instruments throughout their time at the elementary school level. Piano is a universal instrument that opens up many options for teaching music. Because most students are familiar with the piano, learning how to play the piano will add an extra level of excitement to learning music. Adding piano to my student's curriculum does not only add excitement to the classroom, but according to Steinways & Sons, piano practice builds good habits like focus, perseverance, diligence, and creativity. Students will gain a variety of musical skills as result of learning how to play the piano. These skills include learning how to read music in both treble and bass clef more efficiently. Students will also learn how to perform and memorize music at various difficulty levels. Finally students will learn how to create and perform their own music for their peers and others. Partner with me and let's do this together!
