A large area rug provides a place for our youngest students to gather together. The individual squares give each child their own space. This rug will be the centerpiece of the classroom. We will gather as a whole group for our welcome meeting in the morning. We will use the space for movement and music activities, which are a favorite in every Kindergarten classroom! And students will learn in small groups on the carpet while I use an easel. The color-coded squares will also help the class line up and be ready to learn and move as a group.
