As a Special Education teacher, one of the most important aspects of teaching is building trust and a positive relationship with my students. I will start the year with six students in my classroom who have grown up in a school system taken over by Covid-19. I have requested a classroom rug so my students have a place to sit during our Morning Meeting. I am a head teacher in the Academic Behavior Classroom for my district. It is already difficult for students to be in the classroom full time after the last two years. My goal is to make my classroom feel like home. We will be spending a lot of time in my classroom building relationships and trust. Making sure that my classroom is set up for students to be open to relationship building is super important.
