A robust classroom library will provide ALL of my students access to great literature. I have chosen books that can be used for reading intervention as well as books that will challenge my advanced scholars. I have independent reading time built into my ELA teaching block, and I am creating a space with carpets and beautiful lighting. Every student deserves to have a book they can take home, to read and share with their family, and bring back so another scholar can have a similar experience. Scholars will have the opportunity to write about their journey with the text and share it with the class. Importantly, scholars will CHOOSE their books, giving them agency in their discovery of the power of the written word.
