Because of the impact of the circumstances caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, instruction time is more precious than ever. Every day, each of my students participate in small group time, and several students participate in interventions at my teacher table. To help my students learn during the pandemic, I will benefit from the use of a large dry erase easel. It will allow me to provide visual cues for students and to facilitate collaboration within each group. This will be especially beneficial to my English Language Learners. It will also be a great tool to utilize if we are required to transition to distance learning. With the dry erase easel, wobble stools, and small group materials, students will benefit directly from the opportunity to grow in small group engagement for literacy and mathematics skills. This spans groups of students that require remediation and students that are on grade level or beyond. The student literacy materials, which include the markers, erasers, pencils, and pouches, will provide each student with individually organized materials to use during small group time. The supplemental materials, which include the dice, number line mats, and the grammar and vocabulary practice boards, will aid in engaging students during remediation. The timers and buzzers will help my students feel challenged, which they love! All of the materials provided in this project will help promote engagement and excitement during small group time, and will contribute toward authentic learning every day in my classroom.
