My partner teacher and I expect to return in the fall to push-in instruction. This will limit the instruments students can play to what we can put on a cart. In order to make sure students have plenty of experiences playing instruments (something they missed last year during COVID closure), we would love to use these portable resonator bells, which can sit on top of a desk and be passed around between students (when shared use of materials becomes allowed). The bells are a great tool for music literacy and improvisation. Students can apply their note-reading skills to playing a written melody or play simple background while they sing. The color-coded bars can be used for adapted scores with color-coded notes. They're also perfect for learning to improvise. Teachers can have students remove bells from the box and use a preset group of harmonious notes to easily practice improvising a melody.
