Scholastic magazine for language arts, can do just that! Its graphics are enticing, its stories and articles are relevant to kindergarten students today and the content is thought provoking. In this new age of teaching, being able to have meaningful dialogues and class discussions is essential to building a rapport again in the classroom. There is nothing more important to a solid education than a student feeling like their voice and concerns are being heard. Through the use of this resource, crucial discussions within whole group and small group instruction can occur. Scholastic magazine is aligned with state testing standards, has digital components that are essential for today's classroom, as well as informational, argumentative and narrative texts for students to utilize. Many of the passages are about science, trending topics, current news stories and social and emotional concepts that students may be struggling with outside of school. Scholastic magazine incorporates the rigor that schools demand and combines this with important topics for students to discuss, think about, write about and learn from in the hopes that this enthusiasm and interest might spill over into other aspects of their lives both in school and at home.
