Flexible seating will provide students with choice in their learning. During whole group, small group, and independent work times, students can make seating choices that are best for them. Providing more options can encourage students to become active participants in their learning. This project will provide students with many seating options such as wobble chairs, stadium seats, stools, portable lap desks, fidget chair bands, wobble cushions, and balance boards. Flexible seating options not only provide choice, they create a comfortable classroom learning environment. Students will be able to move their seats around the classroom, and find spots in the room where they can learn best. The seating can also provide students with opportunities to fidget and move in a non-disruptive way. Lastly, having flexible seating options can also help with student motivation.
