Explorative play is critical to the development of young minds. Through explorative play students learn critical thinking, how to make mistakes, and how to work in partnerships. These are all skills that fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) need in order to be successful. Offering centers for explorative play provide students with the opportunity to develop such useful skills. STEM centers engage students in the world around them by challenging them to find innovative solutions to real-world problems. I believe that STEM is critical to the progress and enhancement of our communities. We will always need engineers, scientists, and mathematicians to make our world a better place. I want my students to get a look at STEM through exploration and play in the classroom. My students will get a chance to use new and exciting materials to explore math, science, and engineering in a real life setting. Legos, magnetic tiles, and marble tracks will bring to life STEM in an age appropriate and approachable way. I would be so excited to share these amazing centers with my class and watch them explore the world of STEM
