My students are at a school that leads them to be resilient life-long learners. In order to challenge inequalities in our education system, we must raise awareness. I want my students to have the skills and confidence to actively take a stand against injustice. Why not begin challenging inequalities in kindergarten? One way to challenge inequalities is to have culturally responsive pedagogical strategies that bring students to the center of their learning. Classroom libraries and mentor texts can support students in discovering their place in the world, and also act as a guide into the reality of others.
