The high interest books for todays readers are the goal of this project. Over the years popular subjects change and this book library is geared to interests of todays second graders. As well as subject area, providing all levels of readers with access to popular topics is important. My students, being second graders, spent their first grade year in the pandemic and part of their kindergarten year on lockdown. This has created struggles for students reading. High interest books are emotionally uplifting for struggling readers and my students need them.
