Creating a safe and engaging space for my students to learn is always my main goal as a teacher. After a year of sitting in chairs and desks situated in rows, it is very clear that one way of attaining this environment is through flexible seating. Flexible seating will help my firsties get in some movement while getting OUT their wiggles! Children need to move, and I've chosen three different types of flexible seating so they can do just that. The wobble stools will help them wobble and rock as they learn. The stabilized exercise balls will allow them to bounce while working on their posture and core strength. Lastly, I've found stools that I will offer wiggle cushions with so they can move and wiggle as they are engaged throughout our day. It is my goal for students to be able to choose different flexible seating options each week. Switching from typical uncomfortable chairs to these cozy flexible options will make them feel right at home, all while realizing just how exciting and enjoyable learning can be!
