Young children thrive when presented with visual representations of concepts they are learning about. For example, when "taking a trip" around the world, I can create with Teachers Pay Teachers materials passports, materials, and center work specific to countries that represent the heritage and cultural backgrounds of my students. I can promote diversity and acceptance by including places and traditions unique to members of my class, school, and community. I can integrate subjects and create a sense of excitement and engagement. Also, the creation of materials that align with core standards to enhance existing curricula will help students gain deeper understanding of concepts, skills, and ideas.
