The materials I have requested to receive will make a huge difference in my students' education experience. The dry erase boards will be used in small group literacy instruction as we work on high frequency words and phonic skills. They will also be used in small group math with the provided templates. The magnetic letters will be a way for students to touch and put together the individual letter sounds into words. Colorful stools will tantalize my students into wanting to be called to the small group table. The bins will allow organization for each group with the appropriate skills that meet their needs. The larger storage containers will have literacy and math skills in the sections that will give students choice in how they want to practice a skill, such as letter recognition games. Pocket dividers and folders will be used for my students to have accountability during small group time. They will sign in the folder what activities they choose during free choice time. I will also use some folders and sheet protectors to create fluency practice with letter identification and sound.
The donations for this project will help to improve my students' understanding of investigating phonics and phonemic awareness in small groups and individual practice.
