Students can learn in a variety of ways. One of the most impactful ways is through shared experiences and discoveries amongst peers. This past school year stripped students of this opportunity, as we have had to practice social distancing, shorter school days, and adapting to virtual learning because of COVID. The primary purpose of this project is to provide experiences for students to learn through socialization with their peers. With this project, I want to allow time in my classroom every week focused primarily on developing these social skills by playing a game of the week. Students will alternate picking 2-3 games each week to play with each other for 20 minutes once a week. My hope is that this project will help foster a sense of camaraderie, teamwork, and trust while strengthening relationships in and beyond the classroom. With your help, we can accomplish just that!
