I am a third grade teacher at an elementary school in Sunnyvale, CA. My students are some of those most amazing third graders you will ever meet. They are a huge group of readers with varied reading levels ranging from first to sixth grade. With such a range, listening stations with CD players are key to helping my lower readers improve their knowledge of high frequency words (by listening to them). Listening centers also work great with my higher readers by providing them with more challenging text to expand their vocabulary. Listening centers are part of my readers workshop -- a part of the day where students work independently on various English-related assignments. This allows me to work with students (individual or small group) to further their English Language Arts ability (reading and writing). Thanks for considering my project. Thanks for being a positive influence in my classroom.
