My students are differently-abled and are also English-Language Learners. They are so very intelligent and after 21 years of teaching in East Harlem at PS 155, they have taught me to fall in Love with teaching again! Their love of learning—no matter how difficult the task may be—has inspired me to never give up and to find that childhood joy in all that I do! I wish I could pay for each and every one of their college tuitions—because believe me these students are going places—but for now I at least want to give them a summer library that is there’s forever! Many of my boys have never had their own room not to mention their own library in their room. At least this will be a start on their long journey of escaping through literature!
