These books will allow me to expand my classroom library. It will add a highly engaging set of nonfiction books for my students to read and learn from. It will also provide small group sets of diverse books, as well as other high-interest books for students to check out and read from our classroom library. I would love for all of my students to have access to novels with diverse characters that they can see themselves reflected in. Reading diverse books will help my students build empathy by learning about other cultures and traditions. Empathy is one of the most important social skills my students practice every day, so being able to provide these high-quality books to my students will be a powerful way for my students to build their empathy skills. By adding to my classroom library, I will be able to make a difference for all of my students for years to come. Reading books can truly change lives, and I am passionate about providing my students with as many opportunities as possible to engage with high-quality and diverse books.
