My project will benefit sixth graders who are attending middle school for the first time, and it will be their first time to work in a science lab. The science lab has been renovated with new tables and equipment, but the chairs are mismatched and some of them are broken. I hope that the chairs will create an appealing and comfortable environment for the students to work in. Many of these students come from low income households and they do not receive a great deal of encouragement in their homes. I hope to foster a curiosity for the natural world and a love for science as we work in this new lab.
