As I have introduced more flexible seating in my classroom I have found that we are doing more and more classroom instruction on the floor together as a group instead of at tables. I love what this is doing for our classroom community, but I can't help but think how much easier this type of instruction would be with a nice BIG classroom rug! I love that my kids enjoy getting out of their seats and learning up close and personal with me on the floor, but I wish they had the boundaries that a rug provides. It makes this type of instruction so much easier from a classroom management standpoint by giving the students clear boundaries on where they can and can not sit. Your donation to my classroom this year would reach beyond just the students I am working with now. Each year my new class will get to experience learning together and building a cooperative classroom community!
