These flexible seats and items to fill my guidance classroom will allow all 500 of my students to feel comfortable each time they have guidance. Guidance classes focus on collaboration, teamwork, and other social skills that will allow them to be better students and future members of society. Using flexible seating and a relaxing classroom atmosphere students will be able to work together easier while feeling more comfortable. These flexible seating items will make the guidance classroom a more inviting classroom and space for students to come and explore their feelings also. In guidance classes we explore our feelings and learn ways to manage even big emotions such as anger. If a student feels comfortable and relaxed they are more likely to feel comfortable talking about their feelings and exploring ways to manage their feelings. Another aspect of guidance classes is career development including job readiness skills such as time management, cooperation, and interest exploration. Students enjoy being in a classroom that is warm and inviting. My wish list includes items that will all make my room more inviting for students.
