These items will help my students develop math skills that they will need to be successful in fourth grade and beyond. The materials requested include math tools, organizational tools, and basic school supplies. Often times students enter my classroom without basic school supplies. This makes it difficult to streamline organization in the classroom. I would like to be able to provide my students with folders, notebooks, pencils, and other tools so that the stress of being prepared is taken off of their shoulders. This also guarantees access to quality supplies that will last them throughout the school year. Fourth grade dives deep into fractions. With the fraction visuals requested, students will be able to visualize and conceptualize fractions. These concrete manipulatives will help students develop a deeper understanding around this challenging concept. In doing this, students will gain the understanding of fractions and be able to apply that knowledge when working on decimals.
