We incorporate respect and responsibility in all our class lessons and procedures. My 5th-grade students are learning how to take care of themselves and how to be considerate to the people and things around them. I have set up a ticket system in my classroom that foments personal responsibility and communal pride. One way that my students earn tickets is by completing their classroom job. Having my students keep our room clean and tidy is one of the ways that we are learning about responsibility and respect in 5th grade. Our classroom is a small, carpeted, portable classroom. 5th-grade students are prone to spill pencil shavings, snack crumbs, paper hole punch circles, dirt from our science projects, dirt from recess... the list goes ON! Every day a student has a new classroom job to fulfill and the role of carpet cleaner is INDISPENSABLE! This Bissell cordless carpet cleaner would be an AMAZING tool for my students to use. Thank you for your help!
