These Storyworks Magazines will be used in various ways. First of all, the magazines will be used to promote whole group and small group class discussions. For example, since the articles are high interest this will encourage and motivate students to participate in discussions regarding the content. Second, the magazines will allow students to practice grade level reading skills through fiction and nonfiction passages in preparation for state assessments at the end of the school year. The more practice that students can get the better prepared they will be for the end of the year assessments.
