Students identified with dyslexia need to learn to read in a different way. Research shows that multisensory instruction- one that links the visual (language we see) , auditory (language we hear) , and kinesthetic-tactile (language symbols we feel) pathways enhances memory and learning of written language. This will help my students to become successful readers and writers in numerous ways. We will us these iPads to help with the kinesthetic-tactile component of multisensory instruction. I have a bumpy film screen to go on top of the iPads that delivers the tactile sensation that my students need as they are writing and tracing letters. The only thing I am missing is the iPads ad! In addition, my students will also be able to use the Ipad to help with handwriting instruction.
