Currently students who are learning to play the double bass, have to bring their bass to school daily and back home so that they can practice. Having a bass at school would make learning the double bass possible for more students. Next year, we will have 2 students who will be in our Junior High String Orchestra that play the double bass. With this instrument, we will have opportunity for them to play the bass and not have to transport the instrument to and from school as well as make our group sound more full. When a double bass is played in the orchestra, it completely changes the quality of group. The students worked really hard during online orchestra to learn on their own, but now that we will all be together, we will be able to play more challenging music. The bass will add more depth to our String Orchestra.
