These books will help all students feel successful and gain confidence in their reading skills. If students are still struggling to read by 4th grade, they can feel defeated when presented with a chapter book to read or different if everyone else is reading chapter books and they aren't. The answer to this problem is the decodable chapter books that I'm requesting. Students who often feel different will get to have a book that looks like what their peers are reading. They will practice the phonics skills they need to master with text that is written at their level. With these new books, my students will have the opportunity to feel successful and improve their reading skills. These books will be a great addition to my classroom library, allowing all students to increase their reading ability and grow their love for reading.
