One of the struggles we have faced when returning to in person, classroom learning is keeping the students engaged when not using technology. I am looking for ways for my students to interact with our content, and one another, in a FUN and engaging way. By amassing a rich and varied collection of reading and language arts games, I want to establish a fun “down” time where students can play reading games with one another to further improve their reading and social skills. With a wide variety of board games available, students will be able to select skills they feel comfortable with. I will also be able to assign skills in a fun way to students who need this extra help. While groups are playing and increasing their reading proficiency and stamina, I can also pull students for small group interventions and check-ins. In this way every student of every level will be able to feel success in our room.
