My students are in their first year of high school and are finally adjusting to the transition from middle school! They attend a newly built high school in a trying community. I have very diverse classes including students who are English Language Learners. My students also have a wide range of reading levels; some of my students are at their grade level or higher while others are struggling readers. My students are very supportive of each other when it comes to their learning. All of my students are very eager to expand their knowledge and would like to read more about topics that interest them. I have witnessed firsthand that my students are more motivated to learn when a concept connects with them personally.
