These materials will help my students learn the social-emotional skills they need to be successful at school, at home, and in the community. They are gaining tools to learn how to become self-aware and self-determined so they can be their own advocates. Not only that, but by providing fidget tools and meeting sensory needs, they're able to have their needs met in a way that keeps them in the classroom. Students shouldn't have to leave the learning environment to utilize sensory or social-emotional supports, and that's what I strive to do. That's part of becoming self-determined. Items on this list will support our classroom as a whole as we make some schoolwide changes. Utilizing the privacy wall and moveable whiteboard will support teachers and students in being able to organize the classroom in an effective manner.
