In our science department we believe in making learning come alive for our students. We use a lot of graphic organizers to help our visual learners picture abstract concepts such as mitosis, cellular respiration, and taxonomy. A color printer would allow us to bring a new level of interest and detail to these study aids. Adding color to our handouts and student created study guides will make them more engaging and easier for the kids to use. Color would also allow us to distinguish between different processes such as transcription or translation during protein synthesis or to help keep track of chromosomes during mitosis or meiosis.
