My students with Autism use the fidget toys when needed to calm down while those students who have had the opportunity to use the VR headset have found it very engaging. After using the VR headset to experience the BodySwaps program for the first time, I had one student exclaiming how engaging it was and asking why it wasn't used by all teachers. This student also helped other students in the use of the headset and the program. Every student who used it talked about their \"amazing\" experience.\r\nThe headset allowed students to practice public speaking, practice and understand appropriate and inappropriate use of verbal and body language, and practice interview skills. They were also provided with immediate feedback. In addition, it provides the opportunity to experience job interviews within an immersive environment and to examine how students performed verbally and non-verbally once they swap their avatar into the interviewer's avatar and watch what they did during the interview.\r\nI am sure additional gains that are not visible were made by each student, which would not have happened without your generosity. Thank you for your much needed support.","fullyFundedDate":1744632410713,"projectUrl":"project/students-with-disabilities-practicing-ho/9239461/","projectTitle":"Students with Disabilities Practicing How to Work","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Lieberman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6209362"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_3063","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":377,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":80,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":91,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"7.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":54.8,"schoolId":3063,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Madison High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Madison High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/madison-county-school-district/madison-high-school/3063"}
