We are completely redoing our school garden to support our Workplace Readiness student led cafe, "Saber Sunrise Cafe." Student will learn the art of farm to table by growing vegetables that will be juiced and sold in our school cafe that is open to all 2000 students on campus. It amazes me that most students I meet have not tried fresh juice, even celery juice. So we are covering our 3700 square foot garden with cardboard and wood chips and then adding containers so our students can learn container gardening. They will make their own soil with the composter and the worm farm making it a sustainable project that is "Green." Sky is the limit with what our students will learn from growing the food to packaging the product and selling it. Mahalo
